Now U.K people can able to use social media profiles like Facebook and Twitter to access the public services, plans will allow the people from later this months.
Who are applying via Mobile or computer for services like tax credits, pass port and fishing licences will asked to chose a list of familiar log-ins to prove their identity. This will combined those application social media sites, major retailers such as supermarket and banks.
The cabinet said that, once you login the social media sites via computer or mobile phone. It will send an email conformation to the relevant government agency to confirming the applicant identity.
The cabinate office had controlled talks with high street banks, post offices, mobile phone companies and technology firms such as Google, PayPal, BT, Facebook and Microsoft over the scheme.
People can able to login from “trusted” organization, there is possible to access the government services in grouped together on single website called Gov.uk. When user login to the site by phone, it will ask to choose logo from the list of trusted branded like Facebook.
Then the user has to enter the Facebook username, password, verification information provided like own mobile phone number, GPS location and security questions. Then Facebook will send message to Government website for conforming the user’s identity.
When you applying for any service like passport, it expecting that part of the process will be done in online but some of the physical ID will also needed.
A Cabinet Office spokesman said it was “emphatically not” reintroducing any centralised ID card scheme – after the Coalition scrapped such a scheme on coming to office – or a national identity database.
