Twitter announced the launch of a new Lead Generation Card for marketers today.
In Twitter cards you attach media experiences to tweets, in which your content to link. You can add a few lines of HTML to your pages, and any one tweet your content will have a “card” added to the tweet.
“It is easy for users to express interest in what your brand offers in the Lead Generation Card. Users can share easily and securely their Email address with a business without leaving Twitter” explains Twitter Revenue Product Manager Mitali Pattnaik. “When some other users expands your Tweet, they can able to see a description of the offer and a call to action. Their name, @username, and email address are already included within the Card. The user can simply clicks a button then the information will send directly and securely to you.”
The company has been testing the Lead Generation Card with brands like New Relic, Full Sail and Priceline. According to Twitter, feedback has been positive, and beta participants found that compared to other services the cards to be low cost-per-lead.
At this point the cards will only be available for Twitter’s managed clients, but will launch globally and in future to small and medium sized businesses.
