Google added a new option from chrome web store for developers and webmasters to verify their ownership. Previously developers and webmasters have verified their owner ship in the Google webmaster tool. Now they are introduced this new option in great deal. As per the Google blog, if anyone want to publish their app in chrome web store, developer need to prove that they own the domain that host it.
Google says that” Suppose you want to publish an app on the Chrome Web Store and have it associated with your company’s existing site, but you don’t have the ability to use any of the current verification methods e.g. you’re not allowed to upload a verification file to the root directory,”
Advocate Joe Marini, Google developer explains “The site verification service option in the edit page for each item listed in your Chrome Web Store developer dashboard allows you to request association of your app with your organization’s site.”
As per the blog, if you choose “Add new site” or select existing site from the drop down menu, the current registered owner will receive a notification of your request. The owner can able to see, who is asking the permeation and also have the rights to approve or deny the request.
