On September 21 twitter launches a new feature lifeline in Japan, it will helps to the people in Japan to know about the critical information like natural disasters. To know and follow the essential local account In Japan, they have to simply search their postal code in twitter.com if there is an earthquake in Aobadai district of Yokohama, people can share the update about the earthquake from the district (Aobadai) city (Yokohama) and prefecture (Kanagawa) government. They can also find the details from local media, about gas, water or electricity. Japanese users can set their notifications to receive Tweets from these accounts on their mobile devise.
Twitter is working with Japanese Prime minister Lifeline commission and local government to make this feature effective. They are planning to add this feature throughout the world.

On September 25, twitter launches a optional feature on their platform. You can now able to receive the mails from the twitter account, which you want to follow. Twitter says that the suggestion should be based on your requirement, for contacts you have imported to their platform in the past.
Twitter said: “This weekly email highlights a handful of people you may know who use Twitter. You can choose to follow any of the suggested people and you can find more people you may know on twitter.com. Suggestions are based on signals like who your friends follow and the contact information imported by people you know. For example, if several people you know follow someone, you may also know them and want to follow them too.
