As a mankind everyone is looking for something different, for that you should be able to find what you need quickly and easily without thinking about where it might be; whether it’s in our email or out on the public web. That’s why recently Google has launched a new and expanded version of the field trial, which adds Google Drive files to the mix, so it is allowing you to sign up to get relevant information from Gmail right from the Google search box. In addition to that it will surface the Google calendar content.
From user testing, Google got awesome positive feedback such as this note: “The Gmail results feature is awesome! The fact that it’s all integrated into one screen is huge.” Many testers have requested being able to find Drive files as well — as one of you put it, “It would be awesome if I could search my google drive from google search as well 🙂”.
From today onwards Google announced that you can start using a new and expanded version of the field trial by signing up. This will allows you to find and get your relevant information or stuff easily across Google. For this you can use searching on Google.com or searching in Gmail there is no difficulties in it.
In Gmail, you can start typing into the search box given, so that you will start instantly seeing relevant emails from Gmail as well as results from Google Drive, Google calendar, and more.
In Google.com, as usual start typing into the search box, then you can see your results which include relevant information and messages from Gmail (something familiar to those who joined the original field trial) and now Google has provided you the new field trial which also contains same features such as files, documents, spreadsheets and more from Google Drive:
Here Google gave the updated field trial page (ref: https://www.google.com/experimental/gmailfieldtrial) for user. If anyone wants to visit, then click the link and select join the field trial option to proceed. And one thing here is that you can access this trial only in English and for @gmail.com addresses. And till now this feature is not available on Google Apps Accounts).
