Now Facebook recent news release says that it will test the option to send private messages from its web site home page status composer in order to increase the messaging rates. Sources say that it will compete with Google hangouts like (Gmail, Google+, Gtalk). All think it will be a risky move for users who could accidentally post private messages as their status updates.
Sources mention that it starts this experiment with small percentage of users. Account holders will now switch posting to news feed and privately communicating with select friends. At present if users want to send a private message they just click on the top right of the screen where many users less likely to send messages. If it’s not properly understands by the user then this idea my get drop down and will come back to its original post.
The intension to bring that was, many users go off with chat heads where mobile apps offer. Facebook hopes to increase the pace of conversations that generate notifications and speedy return visits from their participants on the web and mobile.
You can also see a post button on the top of the page which is persistently visible navigation bar at the top of the web site. It encourages users to share more by letting them compose a post from any screen on the site.
Face book also adds a striped border to the status box when you set the privacy on a post to “only Me”. Expecting the result from small users. If it goes off with negative feedback or people quickly deleting the post and them resending them privately then may stop hitting among many users.
