IDC shared total smartphone shipments from the second quarter of this year. Android came out way ahead of the competition with 187.4 million units shipped last quarter for 79.3 percent of the global market share. In second place Apple’s iOS was with 31.2 million units shipped for 13.2 percent of the global marketshare.
