Verify your site in Webmaster Tools using Google Tag Manager

If you use Google Tag Manager to add and update your site tags, now using the container snippet code you can quickly and easily verify ownership of your site in Webmaster Tools.

Here how it’s done:

  • On the Webmaster Tools home page, click Manage site.
  • Select the site you want to verify, then select Verify this site.
  • If you have not added your site yet, then in the top right corner you can click the Add a site button.
  • To do this, you must have “View, Edit, and Manage” account level permissions in Google Tag Manager.

  • Select Google Tag Manager as the verification method in the Verification page and follow the steps on your screen.Google-tag-manager-verify
  • Click Verify.
