Social Media Day launched in 2010, everyone watched the social media grow and spread. While it was already a worldwide shift in the way we communicate, it now touches nearly every part of our lives.

Social Media Day celebrates the “digital revolution” brought on by sites like Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Instagram and more.

Social Media Day connect us together in both online and offline.

History

  • Launched in 2010 by Mashable as a way to recognize the digital revolution happening right before our eyes
  • In 2010, there were 600 meetups in 90 countries
  • In 2011, there were 1,400 meetups with thousands of attendees
