Facebook is launching verified pages and profiles to help people to authentic accounts of celebrities and other high-profile people the company says. The verified page by facebook will have a small blue check mark beside the name on time line i search of results and elsewhere on Facebook.
Specifically, the badges will appear next to the name of a Page, when hovering over the name of Page, in Graph Search queries, in stories about people liking a page, and in News Feed ads on a Page.
It also offers a new feature “a small group” of public figures, which includes celebrities, journalists, and government officials which has large no of audiences. It seems similar to Twitter version.
Facebook says it proactively verifies authentic Pages and profiles, but if you believe you’re being impersonated, you can report a fake account. Facebook is simply verifying the largest Pages on the social network, and is not accepting requests now.
