As many says, French born Francois-Auguste-Rene Rodin known as Auguste Rodin. He is the father of modern sculpture. He was criticized in his lifetime as his sculpture differed from that of traditional artists who where in this field for years. But still he sculpted more and won more fans over turn of 20th century, He was a big time player in the world of art.
Rodin is famous for many iconic works of modern sculpture which includes The Age of Bronze, The Walking Man, and The Kiss. But, he is most widely recognized as the artist for his first sculpted in 1880 “The Thinker”, Originally called “The Poet,” Rodin’s The Thinker was first given a large-scale cast in 1902 which was kept on display to the public a couple of years later. The Thinker was casted in various formats and made available for viewing in varoius parts of the world.
Rodin married in his last year of his life, and he died in 1917. As days went, he was recognized as one of the most important person that he is remembered today.
Today November 12th (1840), Google celebrates birthday for this significant artist with a special Doodle.
This Google Doodle makes The Thinker the centerpiece, setting it in place of the second ‘o’ in the iconic logo. Rodin died at the age of 77, he would have been 172 today.
